Stainless Steel Tumblers: 5 Top Benefits
Many of us live our lives on the go. Between rushing to work, the gym, dinner, then home, and all over again the next day, we need a tumbler that can handle everything we do.
We need a tumbler that can keep up with the business of day-to-day life. But with so many on the market, how do we know which one is best?
Join us as we review the five factors that set stainless steel tumblers apart.
What Is Stainless Steel?
Stainless steel is a rust-resistant version of steel. This metal is an alloy made through a highly technical process, turning rust-prone steel into an amazing material.
Steel undergoes a process in which it is melted down with chromium. This steel mixture must include between10% to 30% chromium for it to be considered stainless steel. This is because chromium’s one-of-a-kind properties prevent the steel from rusting.
With over 100 versions of this unique metal, stainless steel offers a wide range of benefits. For example, its non-corrosive properties help with food preservation. Common items made of stainless steel include ovens, pans, cutlery, and grills. But today, we are here to talk about our passion project — stainless steel tumblers.
Benefits of Stainless Steel Tumblers
So why choose stainless steel for your next tumbler?
Stainless steel has countless benefits for the body and the environment, like…
1. Built To Withstand
Stainless steel is a high-quality drinkware option due to its non-corrosive nature. This means that stainless steel won’t rust, making it a durable investment that will last a lifetime.
Stainless steel cups and tumblers are less reactive and safer to drink from than other materials. Often, the reaction between acids and metals can be harmful to the body (and make your drinks just taste odd).
Stainless steel withstands everyday acidic substances, making it safe to add lemons or other acidic add-ins to our drink. So, if you want to add a slice of lemon to the hot tea in your stainless steel mug, you absolutely can.
2. Safe To Drink From
Plastic and aluminum bottles look innocuous, but are they?
Plastic water bottles contain a chemical called bisphenol A, more commonly known to us as BPA. BPA has been labeled a carcinogen, increasing the consumer’s risk for cancer. It also disrupts a person’s natural hormonal balance. While buying plastic water bottles may seem quick and convenient, it may be more harmful to our health than we realize.
Aluminum is a common material used to make reusable cups and thermoses. However, aluminum reacts to acidity, creating an unsafe environment for our drinks. Aluminum water bottles are often lined with plastic to keep the aluminum from reacting to acids. This plastic can often contain BPA as well.
Stainless steel is BPA-free, making it safer on the body.
3. Eco-Friendly
Stainless steel water bottles are one of your most eco-friendly options when it comes to drinkware.
Studies show that every second, 1,000 people open a plastic water bottle. In 2018, the calculated use of water bottles worldwide that year came to 481.6 billion. Plastic doesn’t break down well. In fact, some predict it will take 500 years before plastic decomposes. Single-use plastics have a detrimental impact on our planet.
Stainless steel, however, is 100% recyclable. It is estimated that 80% of stainless steel products will be recycled.
So you pick up your new favorite travel tumbler, and it has a straw lid. But… you’ve had your last straw with single-use plastic straws. Us too. This is why reusable straws are here to stay: stay in use and stay out of the oceans.
4. Cost-Effective
Stainless steel cups are also a more cost-effective option than other bottles or cups. Since stainless steel doesn’t corrode, it will endure through many years, washes, and whatever else life throws at it (or drops it on). While stainless steel tumblers and bottles are a greater investment upfront, they will save money in the long run.
Aluminum bottles, another form of reusable bottles, are subject to corrosion and cannot promise durability. While they will last longer than your average disposable plastic water bottle, they will need to be replaced regularly.
The average American spends $266 a year on plastic water bottles. Stainless steel tumblers can range anywhere between $10 and $100 depending on the brand and are typically a one-time purchase.
5. Temperature Retention
Stainless steel tumblers are often vacuum-sealed and built to keep your cold drinks cold and your hot drinks hot. Double-wall insulated stainless steel keeps drinks protected from temperatures outside the cup.
At Patriot Coolers, we offer tumblers that preserve ice for up to 24 hours and keep your hot drinks for up to six hours.
Our tumblers are constructed with a copper-lined coating for superior heat retention. Copper responds to the drink's temperature and holds it at that temperature for longer periods. Copper is a thermal conductor and has incredible retention of hot and cold temperatures alike.
Stainless Steel Tumbler Options
A few of our offerings at Patriot Coolers include our 30oz Tumbler, 20oz Tumbler, and 10oz Mini Tumbler. Each tumbler has a double-walled, vacuum-sealed body perfect for temperature retention and keeping your drink secure. With their sweat-free design, the outside of your cup will stay dry throughout the day.
A threaded base provides you with a sturdy grip, and the long base makes this tumbler perfect for any cup holder.
We also offer a 16oz Coffee Mug and a 12oz Stemless Tumbler for wine and coffee drinkers.
Our tumblers come in a variety of different colors so you can personalize your cup. Each tumbler comes made with 50 stars molded into the bottom, representing our mission to express gratitude for the United States armed forces. Additionally, the 13 stripes around the base make for a solid grip.
Double Wall Stainless Steel Has No Peers
Stainless steel has a variety of different health and environmental benefits; it’s a best seller for a reason. Built to resist the natural corrosion process, stainless steel is safe to drink from and will not react with other substances.
Stainless steel tumblers are an incredible investment because of how eco-friendly and cost-effective they are. They are the safest and most durable choice when it comes to drinkware. So, whether you need a coffee tumbler, travel mug, wine tumbler, or more, raise a toast with (and to) stainless steel.
